History of the Reno Silver blades

The Reno Silver Blades (RSB) Fencing Academy was founded in 1947 to give fencers in the Truckee Meadows a place to train, compete, and socialize. In the early years, the Club was as much a gentlemen's society as anything else. It met in various places to share stories and cross blades.
As time passed, interest in the Club grew, and members regularly met at the Reno Recreation Center and other available spaces to bout and socialize. In 2002, the Club was incorporated as a non-profit organization, and later purchased the lease on the RSB Fencing Academy in north Reno. Its mission is to practice and promote Olympic-style fencing in the Truckee Meadows, and to provide opportunities for men and women of all ages to participate in the history, honor, and tradition of the sport.
